Course Overview
The UnixWare 7 Administration: New Features course is designed for system administrators who are migrating from either an SCO OpenServer Release 5 or SCO® UnixWare® 2 system to UnixWare 7.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the major features of UnixWare 7
- Use the Common Desktop Environment (CDE)
- Describe the SCOadmin managers in UnixWare 7
- Describe the changes to filesystem configuration and management and use new tools such as SCO ARCserve(R)/Open Lite
- Describe the enhancements to the lp(1) subsystem and use the Print Job Manager and Print Setup Manager
- Describe the networking enhancements in UnixWare 7 and use new networking tools such as the Network Configuration Manager, the FTP Manager, and the PPP Internet Connection Manager
- Describe the mail and messaging features in UnixWare 7 and configure sendmail
- Describe the changes system administrators need to know about before installing UnixWare 7, as well as how to add and license products after the initial installation
Prerequisites
Students should have a system or networking administration background in SCO XENIX, SCO UNIX, SCO OpenServer or SCO UnixWare.
